- Initial growth capital is $2.07 billion, or $1.84 billion net of the Wheaton precious metals stream deposit, including about $200 million of scope changes since the 2023 PFS.
- The DFS base case projects 102,000 tonnes of annual copper production over the first 10 years and an after-tax NPV (8%) of $1.2 billion with a 17% IRR at $5.00 per pound copper.
- Hudbay expects consolidated annual copper production to rise to about 250,000 tonnes, roughly doubling current levels.
- Hudbay states it has obtained all major permits needed to construct and initially operate the base project, which requires only state and local approvals.
- Pima County Administrator Jan Lesher cited increased production and filtered-tailings use in an Oct. 21 memo, and county staff will review the feasibility study.
