META Muse Wonder launch fuels AI catch-up rally

X discussion17 hours ago

Meta Platforms launched Muse Wonder on Oct 12, claiming frontier parity with OpenAI and Anthropic, and the stock stacked roughly 6% over two sessions while much of tech sold off. Truist lifted its META price target to $1,000 from $763 citing Muse monetization and ads strength into the Oct 21 earnings print. Traders are repricing whether Meta's AI spend finally converts into a non-ads revenue line.

BullMuse Wonder puts Meta back among frontier AI labs with a direct path to paid AI revenue beyond ads. Truist cites a 21% META rally since Muse's Sept 8 launch versus a 2% S&P 500 move, and paid Muse tiers plus a 3.6B daily-user distribution base as the long-term AI-winner case.

BearMETA stays trapped until Zuckerberg reins in capex or investors see a real product return on that spend. Independent cost plots put Muse Wonder slightly behind Gemini 4 Argon while costing more than twice as much per task, and a $10B Q3 legal charge still hangs over the Oct 21 GAAP print.
