- Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis reached the strategic island of Perim in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Friday, four Yemeni government sources said, tightening their hold on a vital global shipping route.
- Two sources from the Saudi-backed, internationally recognised Yemeni government said its forces withdrew from Perim, and the Houthis also took the coastal town of Dhubab which faces the island.
- Government forces say they will seek to retake the Red Sea areas captured by the Houthis.
- Satellite imagery shows black smoke above Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, putting Saudi crude export infrastructure in the frame of the widening Middle East war.
