GFS secures up to $21B Japan financing for two New York chip plants

GlobalFoundries plans to open two semiconductor fabrication plants in Malta, New York.
The plants are supported by up to $21B in financing from Japan.
Roughly $10B of the investment will be used to construct a chip factory.
