GE Aerospace says GE9X mid-seal issue will not delay 777X service entry

GE Aerospace CFO Rahul Ghai said at a Morgan Stanley conference that he is confident the GE9X engine's mid-seal durability issue will not hold up the Boeing 777X's entry into service next year.
GE has started shipping GE9X engines with the fix, according to Ghai's remarks, addressing the component issue that had drawn scrutiny ahead of the 777X's service debut.
The GE9X is the exclusive engine for Boeing's 777X widebody, tying GE's engine delivery schedule directly to Boeing's certification and entry-into-service timeline.
