UnitedHealthcare expands prior-authorization carveouts from Oct. 1

UnitedHealthcare said its prior-authorization reduction covers services across cardiology, genetic and laboratory testing, chiropractic care, and physical, occupational and speech therapy.
The policy change is scheduled to take effect on Oct. 1 and is part of UnitedHealthcare's effort to eliminate prior authorization for 30% of healthcare services by the end of the year.
